The HI JACK is a tool developed precisely for that purpose.

With its discrete FET preamp, this compact device boosts the signal of your pickup to line level with gain reserves of 1dB to +40dB. The purist circuit design featuring quality components guarantees extremely low-noise amplification and highest audio quality.

The instrument input of the HI JACK features extra high impedance at 2 MOhm for an audible advantage over the line inputs of mixers: muffled sound due to mismatches between your pickup and the input are a thing of the past, letting the full brilliance of your instrument come through in your recordings.

The output side of the HI JACK is also ideally suited for your next recording session: the line output can also be used in balanced mode, permitting the use of long cables without unwanted interference. With a feature set designed especially for recording electrically amplified string instruments, HI JACK is the ideal front end for any mixer or sound card.
